About Us

Narwhal Art Projects is dedicated to the production, exhibition and promotion of the best in young contemporary art. Distinguished by an earnest belief that art should be accessible to all, Narwhal seeks to find an avenue for art and life to coexist on a broader level, for a wider audience.

A forum for creative living, Narwhal fosters shared enthusiasm, interaction and aesthetic appreciation. Since establishing our gallery in 2004, Magic Pony has become a passionate mediator, building enduring relationships between artists, collectors, and the community. Informed by an entrepreneurial spirit, we have long sought to re-conceive what an art space should be; combining the commercial gallery paradigm with the experimental attitude of an alternative exhibition space. Narwhal is dedicated to supporting the professional and personal development of artists; taking risks and providing artists with the freedom to create.

Committed to providing a platform for emerging Canadian talent as well as bringing something new to Toronto’s cultural sphere, Narwhal actively explores the convergences between fine art, design and visual culture, extending the ongoing discourse surrounding pop art and its contemporary expressions.

In 2009 Narwhal will be exhibiting with Ginette Lapalme, Howie Tsui, Lauchie Reid, Lee Hutzulak, Marc Bell, Melinda Josie, Michael Comeau, Selena Wong, Tara Azzopardi, Junko Mizuno, Nicholas Aoki, Kozyndan, and Stephen Appleby-Barr, among others.
