That's not a run in your stocking, it's a hand on your leg.

Nadia Belerique, Mark Laliberte, Liz Magic Laser, Nikki Woolsey

Sept 18 - Oct 20 2012

Featuring work by artists Liz Magic Laser, Mark Laliberte, Nikki Woolsey and Nadia Belerique, "That's not a run in your stocking, it's a hand on your leg" is the first in a three-part exhibition entitled Your Undoing from curatorial team The Venn Diagram - Kristin Weckworth (Magic Pony, Narwhal) and Jon Davies (Power Plant, Oakville Galleries). Opening reception Tuesday Sept 18 from 6-10pm.

Extracted from a poem by Frank O'Hara, the title "That's not..." suggests the uncanny forms of embodiment on display in this small exhibition of work in sculpture and installation, collage and video. Collectively the work evokes a kind of double take as everday objects and recognizable images perform in unexpected and unsettling ways.

A Cast of Something Else

Bea Fremderman, Geoffrey Pugen, Josh Reames & Tibi Tibi Neuspiel

Oct 26 - Nov 11, 2012

A Cast of Something Else investigates the omnipresent permeation of technology in everyday life, specifically the absurdities and idiosyncrasies encountered in negotiating with our deepening digital presence. Work by Bea Fremderman, Geoffery Pugen, Tibi Tibi Neuspiel and Josh Reames explore spatial paradigms, representation & materiality in coexisting physical/digital environments through sculpture, animation, painting & photography. Cognizant of the perpetual mini phenomena we experience day-to-day , each piece embraces contemporary progressions within our virtual worlds, both physical and emotional, and how these technological spaces are influential to the inherent transformation of production and consumption, evoking a subtle sense of détournement within the process and final artifact.
